Head-Curtain Side-Impact Air Bags

Mounted to the roof rails, the air bags(1) are designed to help reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front and outboard rear-seat occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. Standard in LT3 and LTZ models and available in LS, LT1 and LT2.

Passenger Sensing System

Standard in every Avalanche, the Passenger Sensing System(1) automatically switches the right-front passenger air bag on or off based on the passenger's weight and the type of pressure on the seat. A lighted indicator is located on the overhead console.

Vehicle Diagnostics checks some of your vehicle’s key systems, such as your engine, air bags and antilock brakes, while you drive. You’ll receive an automatic email report once a month that includes your current mileage, remaining oil life, maintenance alerts and more.

And new Turn-by-Turn Navigation(3), included with the available Directions & Connections Plan, gives you simple, step-by-step voice-guided instructions on how to get to your next destination. Push the OnStar button, and you’ll never have to stop and ask for directions.

With Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN), an OnStar Advisor will attempt to contact you, inquiring whether or not you need assistance. If you’re unable to answer, the Advisor will contact a nearby emergency services provider who will dispatch help to your determined location.
