2007 Aveo Safety Features

Five-Star Safety Rating

The Aveo5 scored the highest possible rating — five stars — in the front crash test.(1)

ABS

The antilock brake system (ABS) is a crash avoidance feature that helps prevent wheel lockup during braking on most slippery road conditions.

Dual-Stage Frontal Air Bags

Standard driver and right-front passenger air bags supplement the safety belt system to help protect the driver and right-front passenger in moderate to severe frontal impacts.(2)

Side-Impact Air Bags

Side-impact air bags are designed to help reduce the risk of head injuries to front-seat occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. They're standard on every Aveo.(2)

Passenger Sensing System

Standard on every Aveo, the Passenger Sensing System(2) automatically switches the right-front passenger air bag on or off based on the passenger's weight and the type of pressure on the seat. A lighted indicator is located on the instrument panel.

Roof-Mounted Carriers

Take your bike along with this dual-locking, quick-release system. It holds one bicycle, and additional carriers may be added depending on the bicycle style. Or choose the ski carrier and carry up to six pairs of skis or four snowboards, depending on equipment style. Both carriers require vehicle roof rack and utility bars. Just remember cargo and load capacity are limited by weight and distribution.
