2007 Cobalt Safety Features

ABS

The antilock brake system (ABS) is a crash avoidance feature that helps prevent wheel lockup during braking in most slippery road conditions. . ABS is standard in all Cobalt models except LS and 1LT, where it's available only as part of the Enhanced Safety Package.

Driver Information Center (DIC)

This standard feature helps keep you up to date on various functions of your Cobalt. Located inside the speedometer, it includes an Oil-Life Monitor and conveys trip information and calculations. You’ll also get personalized settings such as door-lock functionality, Remote Keyless Entry preferences and remote start disablement (when equipped). Readouts are available in three languages — English, Spanish and French.

Traction Control

To enhance traction and help keep you going, this feature uses the ABS sensors to automatically detect and act to reduce wheel slip. Get it standard on LTZ Sedan. It’s available on LS and 1LT when you get the available ABS and automatic transmission or on 2LT, 3LT and SS with the available automatic transmission.

Head-Curtain Side-Impact Air Bags

Head curtain side-impact air bags are available in every Cobalt. Mounted to the roof rail, they are designed to reduce the risk of head injuries to front-seat and outboard rear-seat occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions.(1)

OnStar

OnStar(2) with a one-year Safe & Sound Plan provides you with 24-hour access to helpful Advisors who can assist in a variety of situations. It’s available on LT, LTZ Sedan, SS and SS Supercharged Coupe models and requires head-curtain side-impact air bags.

Vehicle Diagnostics checks some of your vehicle’s key systems, such as your engine, air bags and antilock brakes, while you drive. You’ll receive an automatic email report once a month that includes your current mileage, remaining oil life, maintenance alerts and more.

And new Turn-by-Turn Navigation(3), included with the available Directions & Connections Plan, gives you simple, step-by-step voice-guided instructions on how to get to your next destination. Push the OnStar button, and you’ll never have to stop and ask for directions.

With Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN), an OnStar Advisor will attempt to contact you, inquiring whether or not you need assistance. If you’re unable to answer, the Advisor will contact a nearby emergency services provider who will dispatch help to your determined location.

Supercharged Stage 1 System

Make it growl. Engineered by GM for Cobalt SS Supercharged Coupe, the Stage 1 Kit consists of four injectors and a performance engine management calibration. It generates a significant power gain right at the wheels. Take your 205-horsepower engine up to a throaty 236.

Supercharged Stage 2 System

Take it to the next level. Get the performance you need out of your 205-hp engine with even more power through the midsection of the power curve. The Stage 2 System includes a two-piece performance pulley, performance calibration, four injectors, belt and fasteners. It increases your engine to 241 horsepower and 218 pound-foot of torque.

Ground Effects Package

This sporty ground effects package gives Cobalt Coupe (interim availability) and Sedan eye-catching custom-molded fascias designed and painted especially for your vehicle.

Performance Air Intake

Hear the rush when you add this Performance Air Intake to your vehicle. The attractive aluminum tube will stay highly polished thanks to a maintenance-free clearcoat finish. The free-breathing air filter is non-oiled, meaning it won't interfere with the computer sensors. It also features the GM Performance Parts logo. Show it off anywhere because it's 50-state legal.

Sport Pedals

Designed specifically for Cobalt, these superb quality brushed-aluminum pedal covers replace existing accelerator, brake, and manual transmission clutch pedals to provide a sporty performance finish and feel to your interior. The covers also feature raised rubber traction surfaces.

Highly Polished Exhaust Tip

Adjustable and interchangeable, fully-polished stainless steel tip with the Chevy bowtie logo fits perfectly over the Cat-Back performance exhaust system (sold separately). It's available in straight cut or angle cut.

Double-Walled Stainless-Steel Exhaust Tip

Add high-performance appearance to the stainless-steel exhaust on your Cobalt Coupe or Sedan. This polished stainless-steel single exhaust tip features a unique double-walled design with rolled edges.

Spoilers

Add to the aerodynamics of your Cobalt with this race-inspired high-profile spoiler. It's the same one you'll find on the SS Supercharged models. Or make a more subtle statement with the low-profile rear spoiler (not shown). They're available in four colors or primed to paint.

Cat-Back Exhaust System

Constructed of T-304 stainless steel with mandrel bent tubing. This performance feature includes a semi-polished free-flowing muffler with your choice of two distinctive sounds: Touring (more aggressive than stock) and Performance (much more aggressive than stock). Chrome Door Handles

These chrome door handles replace the standard body-color ones to give your Cobalt that finely finished look.

Front Grille

Upgrade the front of your Cobalt with this chrome front grille assembly. Designed for perfect fit and easy installation, it replaces your existing grille and features a center bar and Chevy bowtie.

Chrome-Apperance Trim

Enhance the appearance of your vehicle with accent side moldings and door handles that have a chrome-like finish. They're easy enough to install yourself, if you choose.

Body-Color Side Mirrors

Known as "skull caps" on the street, these replace the black mirrors you'll find standard on Coupe and Sedan. Your dealer can easily install these to complement and coordinate with the color of your Cobalt. Available in six colors.

Splash Guards
