Sound systems include an Electronically Tuned Receiver (ETR) with AM/FM stereo, TheftLock, auto tone control, automatic volume, seek-scan, extended-range speakers, 12 FM and six AM station presets, and a digital clock. Select sound systems can store a mix of up to 36 preselected AM, FM, and XM Satellite Radio(2) stations without having to select among frequencies or bands.

Included on every Monte Carlo, OnStar(2) with a one-year Safe & Sound Plan provides you with 24-hour access to helpful Advisors who can assist in a variety of situations.

Vehicle Diagnostics checks some of your vehicle’s key systems, such as your engine, air bags and antilock brakes, while you drive. You’ll receive an automatic email report once a month that includes your current mileage, remaining oil life, maintenance alerts and more.

And new Turn-by-Turn Navigation(3), included with the available Directions & Connections Plan, gives you simple, step-by-step voice-guided instructions on how to get to your next destination. Push the OnStar button, and you’ll never have to stop and ask for directions.

With Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN), an OnStar Advisor will attempt to contact you, inquiring whether or not you need assistance. If you’re unable to answer, the Advisor will contact a nearby emergency services provider who will dispatch help to your determined location.

Passenger Sensing System

Standard on every Monte Carlo, the Passenger Sensing System(1) automatically switches the right-front passenger air bag on or off based on the passenger's weight and the type of pressure on the seat. A lighted indicator is located on the instrument panel.
